Translation as a practice and an idea has been integral to my intellectual development since the early 2000s. During my time in Tehran, I participated in a collective experiment with fellow translators to cultivate a critical theory of the practice of translation as a political work. Several edited volumes were published (see C.V. on the home page). In a monograph in Farsi and recently in two essays in English I have revisited that experience in light of Iran’s political life domestically and internationally.
